Photo Credit: Bundeswehr photo Brig. Gen. Markus Laubenthal, commander of the Bundeswehr's Panzerbrigade 12 (12th Armored Brigade) has been named as the next chief of staff for U.S. Army Europe. Laubenthal is the first German officer to be assigned to the USAREUR position, where he will synchronize the activities of the USAREUR staff in much the same manner as his American predecessors.
